Seoul Convention Bureau (SCB) has announced plans to host the Union of International Associations (UIA) Round Table as a fully virtual event.
The Round Table event, which is due to take place on 17-18 September 2020, will work in close partnership with suppliers within Seoul’s meetings and events industry.
The UIA Round Table Asia-Pacific event will allow delegates to listen to keynote speeches and panel discussions, participate in discussions on various issues and join the networking activities from different virtual venues representing Seoul.
The N Seoul Tower, Changdeokgung Palace, Seoul Botanic Garden, Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), and Floating Island Convention have each been selected to represent the city.
“It seemed adventurous to host a round table virtually at first,” Jihyun Kim, director of the MICE planning team at Seoul Tourism Organisation said.
“However, as more things are fitting into the right place, it started to portray a successful event that will show the value of the city to the attendees.”
The event programmes have been organised to reflect what a live round table event would look like. The agenda for the event includes keynote speeches, database training session, presentations and workshop discussions on various topics, and panel discussions.
Seoul will present virtual tour videos introducing what makes the city a top-tier meetings and events destination and to ensure the event is as interactive as possible, organisers have laid on a series of games and videos for the participants.
Attendees can choose and watch a selection of 360-degree virtual reality videos and play short games to win prizes.
“I hope the attendees will have the opportunity to visit us in Seoul one day and take advantage of the PLUS SEOUL support program and of course, see the beautiful city for themselves as well,” added Jihyun Kim.
