Association bookings are among the events driving ‘exceptional growth’ for Central London venue The QEII Centre.

Reporting sales growth for a third year running, the conference, events and exhibition venue, said while corporate bookings accounted for the largest amount of revenue (40%), national and international association bookings made up 20%.

The Association of Anaesthetists, The British Thoracic Society and the Hydrogen Energy Association are among the regular associations hosting events at The QEII Centre.

The QEII Centre said repeat bookings contributed to 65% of sales with many clients committing to multi-year bookings.  Healthcare and media are the strongest sectors, accounting for over a third of bookings.

In its Annual Report for 2023/24, the venue reported total revenues of £17.6m. It said this year, revenue was just under £1m ahead.

Saf Ismail, CEO, The QEII Centre, said this year’s strong sales were testament to the ‘dedication of a proactive team’ and creative new initiatives like Dare to Be Bold, QEII Stays and its dinner packages developed in collaboration with chef Wil Devlin, whose Kent restaurant The Smallholding holds a Green Michelin star.

She said: “With a number of prestigious events already confirmed for this year and beyond, we are excited to continue turning adventurous ideas into outstanding experiences”
