UNICEO,
an international association for senior corporate events organisers, has signed
a deal with hotel group Accor which, it says, will benefit its members.
The
hospitality giant, which owns 45 brands – from economy to luxury - becomes the third
hotel group to establish a ‘global strategic partnership’ with UNICEO.
Previously
the association had partnered with Melia (2015) and Marriott (2018).
The
cooperation includes providing support for the activities of the non-profit
association based in Geneva, Switzerland, and collaboration with its global
membership of senior corporate event and meeting planners worldwide.
Accor
will benefit from closer access to senior decision-makers responsible for the
corporate events of major international companies and associations,
strengthening Accor’s position in the meetings and events segment.
Laurent
Fuchs, UNICEO executive director, said: "Accor is one of the leading hospitality
companies in the world and owns the most prestigious brands. We are honoured to
be selected as one of their global partners.
“This
partnership will provide our association with valuable support, and our members
with a global expertise of hundreds of venues for their events therefore
positively contributing to their events ‘excellence and to UNICEO development
and leadership.”
Accor SVP M&E, Airlines & Trade Marketing, Meenaz Diamond added: “We are delighted
to announce our partnership with UNICEO, as we believe in the power of
collaboration to create positive change. Working with UNICEO’s community of
Event planners will provide important insights to help us design initiatives
that improve the hotel experience of Corporate Event Planners.”
UNICEO has other strategic partnerships with Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau, Cvent, and the business and creativity festival beaworld.
