TRACE by isla, the tool that helps businesses estimate, reduce and report the carbon and waste impact of their events, has added a new function that will enable them to report a business’s operational emissions too.
While emissions reporting has become standard practice in the events sector, some businesses are failing to measure the output of their day-to-day operations that happen separately from event activity, isla claims.
For those that do, business operations emissions might be recorded in another system with different boundaries and levels of detail.
The launch of TRACE Business Operations is designed to create consistency in reporting and reduce duplication, because it separates operations data from event activity. However, the system will provide an option to connect relevant data to event workflows where there is a clear link.
Anna Abdelnoor, CEO and founder of isla, said the idea was to make reporting more relatable to the way the events industry operated.
“Event businesses have needed a more practical way to measure their own operations without losing sight of event reporting," she said.
“We’re solving this in TRACE, offering a clearer operational picture and a more consistent reporting structure, while aligning data with integrating reporting into event workflows where it adds value.”
