Pay attention! Planners struggle to engage attendees amid digital fatigue

With increasing distractions and digital fatigue, 42.7 per cent of event professionals struggle to keep attendees engaged, a new report by event technology provider, EventsAir has found

Budget limitations also continue to be a primary concern for event professionals, with as many as 63.5 per cent of survey respondents identifying financial constraints as their biggest challenge in 2025.

Drawing on responses from more than 370 event professionals and interviews with industry leaders – the findings aim to provide guidance for event professionals looking to stay ahead in a rapidly changing environment.

Other key highlights from the report include:
  • A majority of 95.4 per cent of event professionals rated in-person events as either very important or moderately important.
  • High-quality content is now the single most important factor for event success, according to 79.7 per cent of event professionals surveyed
  • Technology plays a critical role in modern event planning, with 79.3 per cent of event professionals using event management software.
