The move into marketing and communications among larger professional
congress organisations (PCOs) continued when AIM Communications, the communications
wing of Milan-based PCO AIM Group International, completed the wholesale acquisition
of GAS Communication & Partners.
Having previously held a 51 per cent stake in the company, the
remaining 49 per cent shareholding was acquired in a full merger by incorporation,
forming a single entity, from the January 2024.
GAS Communication & Partners is a Rome-based PR agency
specialising in healthcare, pharma and social communications whose clients
include a number of scientific societies, patient associations, and
pharmaceutical companies, which fit AIM Group International’s core activities.
Gianluca Scavo, CEO of AIM Communication, said: “GAS
Communication & Partners' established expertise and creativity in strategic consulting, digital
and social communication, press office, and media relations, along with its
rich track record of communication campaigns, awareness initiatives, and
product marketing, integrates seamlessly with the services offered by AIM
Communication, creating a more robust, comprehensive, and highly specialised
communication hub in the sphere of healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and digital
communication.”
The newly integrated 40-strong team will be split between
Milan and Rome. Patrizia Semprebene Buongiorno, president of AIM Communication,
said the merger, which sees an integrated 40-strong team split between Milan and
Rome, offered ‘important opportunities for further growth’.
AIM Group International positions itself as an international
‘multi-service’ company, focused on three areas: events, communication, consultancy.
It has offices in Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, Florence, Hamburg,
Lisbon, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Oporto, Paris, Prague, Rome, Vienna.
Rival congress organisers - such as MCI Group and Kenes Group -
also offer in-house marketing and communications services in response to increasing
demand from clients.
