A major event for
the care of companion animals is set to convene at the Palacongressi di Rimini
in Italy in 2027.
More than 1,500 veterinarians
and academics from around the world are expected to attended the European
Congress of Veterinary Internal Medicine for Companion Animals (ECVIM-CA).
The decision to host ECVIM-CA in Rimini reflects the city’s
growing reputation as a hub for scientific and medical conferences. Fabio De
Santis, director of the event and conference division at the Italian Exhibition
Group (IEG) which runs Palacongressi di Rimini, attributed the successful bid
to a collaborative local strategy. “Our ambassador programme, featuring highly
regarded professionals like Prof. Federico Fracassi of the University of
Bologna, has strengthened our international appeal. This win highlights
Rimini’s ability to host high-caliber scientific events.”
Prof. Fracassi, president of the ECVIM-CA congress
committee, emphasised the congress’s academic prestige, noting that it is “the
most prestigious veterinary internal medicine event in Europe.”
What delegates can expect
During the conference, attendees will gain access to research,
clinical updates, and workshops covering veterinary internal medicine,
cardiology, and oncology.
Organized by the Dutch agency PCO Partners in Congress
Organisation, the event will follow editions in Maastricht (2025) and Berlin
(2026), further enhancing Rimini's international profile.
As European legislation on veterinary specializations is
expected to evolve soon, the congress will also address regulatory changes,
ensuring veterinarians are equipped for future professional demands.
