The Australian Business Events Association (ABEA) and the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) have announced a new three-year Strategic Partnership, with joint research and white paper development at the heart of their collaboration.
Under the agreement, both associations will co-author a white paper and share relevant industry research and studies with their members, aiming to deliver deeper insights and drive innovation across the global meetings and events industry. The aim is to provide members with an enhanced knowledge base, helping them stay ahead in an increasingly complex landscape.
ABEA CEO Melissa Brown said: “There is so much knowledge to be shared. The more efficient we can be in sharing experience and expertise across the globe, the easier it will be for our members to stay current with industry developments.”
Beyond research, the partnership includes collaborative education efforts such as panel discussions, joint sessions at global trade shows, and discounted access to professional development courses. Members will also benefit from networking opportunities at major international events including IMEX, IBTM, FIEXPO, and AIME.
IAPCO president Sissi Lignou described the partnership as essential in a time of ongoing industry transformation. “Fostering collaboration between organisations who stand for the same values is crucial for the ongoing success and growth of the global meetings and events industry,” she said.
This announcement marks another addition to the growing list of strategic alliances within the global meetings sector, as associations continue to partner up in pursuit of greater impact, broader reach, and stronger industry resilience.
