The first purpose-built centre in Canada, the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre (CTCC) has seen Calgary grow into the dynamic city it is today while helping to shape the nation’s business events industry.

The best-connected convention destination in Canada, there are hotels, restaurants, shops and nightlife on the CTCC’s doorstep. Located on the pedestrian-friendly and historic Stephen Avenue, there are more than 1,100 directly-connected hotel rooms and access to Plus 15, the world’s most extensive pedestrian skywalk network extending to over 16km.

A blank canvas of possibilities for clients, the CTCC is experienced at hosting international conferences, corporate summits and elegant galas with the aim of delivering authentic, signature events. When large conferences come to town, they activate the entire event community.

Recent international events

The theme of the World Petroleum Congress (WPC) 2023 was ‘Energy Transition: The Path to Net Zero’. Attracting more than 5,000 delegates from 111 countries, there were 10,000 unique visitors to the exhibition. The CTCC hosted the opening gala and the Mayor’s VIP reception.
The 17th Greenhouse Gas Control Technology Conference 2024 is at the forefront of advancing low-carbon solutions to combat climate change and brought 1,500 international delegates to Calgary.

The CTCC partners with Tourism Calgary and Calgary Economic Development to create more opportunities for events in the city while the opening of the BMO Centre is another major asset for the city.

More than events

With a world-class airport, two downtown convention centres and a billion-dollar investment in event infrastructure, Calgary is the fourth largest city in Canada and Western Canada’s largest convention destination. With more days of sunshine than anywhere else in the country, it is surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes. A diverse city, it is home to more than 240 different ethnic origins.

The Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel, the Hyatt Regency Calgary and the Fairmont Palliser Calgary are all directly connected to the Centre.

Calgary is known for its thriving culinary and arts scene, and attendees can enjoy a variety of entertainment from vibrant live music performances to scenic golf courses.

The CTCC is just steps away from a world-class arts and culture district and directly connected to the newly revitalised JR Shaw Centre for Arts & Culture, opening in 2026. Across the street is The Arts Commons transformation to the Werklund Centre, celebrating theatre, music, dance and the visual arts.

With an excellent culinary scene, the CTCC’s ‘Love Your Lanyard’ programme offers delegates the chance to explore Calgary’s dining options downtown with exclusive deals from partner restaurants.
