P&J Live – the UK’s most sustainable convention centre
Truly flexible, P&J Live offers 22 event spaces that evolve to accommodate anything from 10 to 10,000 delegates. Offering a ‘one-stop shop’ solution, its in-house team includes experts in AV and IT, exhibition services, catering and marketing under one roof.
Powered, lit and cooled by its own energy centre, generating hydrogen gas from local food and garden waste, P&J Live has had sustainability at its heart from its inception. Now celebrating its fifth birthday, its professional team works closely with organisers to find easy ways to reduce an event’s carbon footprint from paperless conferences and digital signage, marketing and tickets to the Guardians of Grub food waste programme.
The venue partners with Stagecoach to supply hydrogen and electric-powered vehicles to transport delegates between the airport, venue and city centre, and LoganAir to offset carbon emissions by 2040 through its GreenSkies programme, with 30 per cent discounts on air fares for delegates.
There are 350 hotel bedrooms on site, 2,000 rooms within a five-minute car or bus ride and a further 4,500 in Aberdeen City and Shire offering a wide range from student accommodation to five-star luxury in castles, country houses and boutique city properties.
Social programmes
As you would expect from a city that attracts so many high-flying international professionals as well as students, Aberdeen has a thriving cultural and nightlife scene. It is well served by excellent restaurants, bars, museums and theatres.
And for those wishing to explore further, there is the unique Scottish hospitality, whisky tours, magnificent golf courses, sweeping coastlines, dramatic mountain landscapes and 263 castles – more per acre than anywhere else in the UK.
