New world-class venue opens in Taiwan’s high-tech hub

The newly-opened Messe Taoyuan is easily accessible and ideally placed for knowledge exchange in its globally-important industrial clusters

With its strategic location close to Taiwan’s international airport and technology and semiconductor industries, Messe Taoyuan offers the largest international conference facilities in Taiwan. Just open, with extensive exhibition space and an integrated shopping mall, dining and entertainment facilities, this spectacular new venue offers a complete package for international association and other business events.

The first major international conference to take place at Messe Taoyuan was the JCI World Congress 2024. A global, not-for-profit organisation for 18 to 40-year-olds, JCI’s mission is to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.

The modern conference space and flexible facilities at this new world-class venue include a grand auditorium for 2,000, a 1,500-seat auditorium, an 800-seat conference room together with many other meeting spaces across six levels. The large exhibition area features 600 standard booths.

Also home to Taiwan's international airport, with non-stop flights to 96 destinations in 28 countries, Taipei port and a free trade port zone, Taoyuan is increasingly recognised as Taiwan's global gateway and access is easy for international visitors.

Historically famed for its agricultural produce, its agri-food industry remains important as the region has evolved into a commercial hub.

The picturesque town of Daxi, with its streets lined by shophouses, is a great place for an excursion. A visit to Daxi Tea Factory is a fun way to learn about the history of Taiwan’s famous tea and the fascinating culture surrounding it. A tea-infused vegetarian lunch can be included.

Visit the Taoyuan 77 Art Zone, built around former Japanese police dormitories dating back to 1920, or discover the rich local culture at Chung Yuan Cultural and Creative Park, housed in converted military barracks and hosting everything from cultural and creative markets to workshops and music festivals. It also offers several meeting rooms, outdoor plazas and lawns.

This is a spectacularly beautiful island and a trip to the stunning Shihmen Reservoir offers scenic views of the Dahan River cutting through steep canyons.
