The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s (the Centre) Sustainable Development Goals Legacy Programme is a new initiative aimed at helping international association events create a lasting legacy by connecting with and contributing to the local community, environment, culture, arts and creative industries in Malaysia.
The programme focuses on three main pillars: Caring & Giving; Environmentally-Responsible Events and Creative Industries.
Under the ‘Caring & Giving’ pillar, meeting planners can become involved with various local organisations supporting those in need. The ‘Environmentally-Responsible Events’ pillar encourages organisers to work with the venue’s team to enhance the sustainability of their event. The ‘Creative Industries’ pillar aims to help delegates discover Malaysian culture and arts – and improve the livelihood of emerging artists - while creating a fun-filled and engaging experience.
As part of the ASM Global group of venues, the Centre has committed to achieving targets set under ASM Global Acts, an ambitious plan to convert the portfolio into the most sustainable venues on Earth. Beginning this year, ASM Global is dedicated to delivering measurable results and substantial collective impact through state-of-the-art sustainability innovations.
