The transformed Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) will re-open in September with larger events space, increased flexibility and 5G-enabled state-of-the-art technology

In the heart of Bangkok, The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) will be five times larger than its predecessor when it reopens in the autumn. The total space of 300,000 sqm consists of 78,500 sqm of event space including eight exhibition halls, four ballrooms, four plenary halls and an additional 50 flexible meeting rooms, with unlimited possibilities for face-to-face, hybrid and virtual events.

PROMOTING AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE

The new QSNCC will also include a fresh retail concept aimed at promoting health and fitness with a gym, café, food court, restaurant and bar. Known as BALM – Bangkok’s first Active Lifestyle Mall – it will offer more than 100 retail brands and cover more than 11,000 sqm divided into zones including event support, food and beverage plus active lifestyle. It is also surrounded by the Benjakitti Forest Park, the new green lung of the Thailand capital with sports and recreation facilities.

HIGH-TECH

With a 5G-enabled structure, event organisers are guaranteed excellent internet coverage to support all types and formats of events. Touchless access systems and intelligence event platform management systems are included.

GREEN CREDENTIALS

The QSNCC will be the first and only convention centre awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification. The use of environmentally friendly construction materials – adopting 25 per cent recycled products and 75 per cent recyclable products – solar cells and energy-saving devices all contribute to its sustainable management.

EASY ACCESS

Easily accessible via the city’s MRT with a new direct connection, the QSNCC provides easy access to hotels, restaurants, shopping malls and business areas.

“With our capabilities in providing a full range of services for all types of events, QSNCC will be the new event platform destination in Asia,” says Sakchai Pattarapreechakul, President of NCC Management & Development, manager of QSNCC. “The redeveloped QSNCC is expected to attract over 13 million visitors per year once it is reopened in September 2022. To provide visitors with extensive services, we are planning to expand the retail space by 30 per cent.”

Beloved by delegates for its vibrancy, Bangkok’s main attractions are easily accessible from the QSNCC and it’s no surprise that more than 130 events are lining up for 2023.
