2023 was an exceptional year for the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), hosting 496 events and attracting more than 300,000 visitors and delegates
Since 2009, BCCK, located in Sarawak, Malaysia, has served as one of the largest and best-equipped convention centres in the region. Its commitment to continually evolving and enhancing its products and services for international association events, together
with its dedicated team, means it consistently exceeds expectations and sets new standards for event venues worldwide.

April 2023 marked an historic milestone as BCCK welcomed more than 50,000 diners during the iconic Juh Sungkei di BCCK Ramadhan buffet - setting a new record and highlighting BCCK's ability to deliver top-tier culinary experiences for large numbers. This
was an impressive 24 per cent increase from the pre-pandemic highest record set in 2019.
This year, the Centre promises an exciting line-up of international conferences, including the Asia Pacific Neurocritical Care Conference, Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Conference & Exhibition, IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics,
International Conference for Tropical Medicine & Malaria, World Congress of Herpetology and others.
BCCK continues to work closely with local stakeholders, state and national bureaus, and industry partners to bring further world-class events to Sarawak and Malaysia.
Award-winning innovation

Recent accolades include the prestigious Anak Sarawak Award 2023 for Meeting Venue Excellence from BE Sarawak. The Centre also received three awards at the Malaysia Business Events Award 2023: the Purpose-Built Convention & Exhibition Centre Excellence
Award (Total saleable space 15,000 sqm & below), New Homegrown Event Excellence Award (Consumer Exhibition with a minimum gross space of 2,000 sqm) and New Homegrown Event Excellence Award (Congress/Convention with a minimum of 200 delegates). At
the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2024 in Laos, BCCK received the Venue Award in the Exhibition Venue category.
Expanding
and evolving
As BCCK approaches its 15th year, it remains committed to innovation and improvement. The expansion of its popular Raintree Restaurant’s deck, set to accommodate over 300 diners, is underway to meet growing demand. Other recent enhancements
include the installation of a modular system at Level 1, providing ever more versatile spaces, while an upgrade of its ICT infrastructure will see the Centre able to handle up to 20,000 devices concurrently by June. This will ensure uninterrupted
internet coverage, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
Making
sustainability a top priority
Environmental sustainability is a top priority for BCCK. Through ISO management systems, waste is salvaged and repurposed. A collaboration with a leading Satoyama farm in Kuching is a significant initiative to manage food waste through bioconversion,
transforming segregated waste into organic fertiliser for pesticide and chemical-free plant growth. This not only reduces waste but also mitigates harmful environmental factors.
Supported by their food suppliers, BCCK recycled 1,662kg of carton boxes, 316kg of paper, 36kg of aluminum cans, 3,070kg of scrap iron and 9,870kg of used cooking oil from January 2022 to September 2023.
