Did you know that as many as one in three adults in the UK
have hearing loss, tinnitus or are deaf? That’s around 18 million people who
are hard of hearing.
M&IT Editor Paul Harvey is one of them, and in this
month’s episode of The Meeting Room he talks to Emma Eversham about the impact his
hearing loss has on his experience within the event industry.
While the industry is making headway in accessibility and
inclusivity, there remains a lack of consideration of the needs of event
professionals who are deaf or hard of hearing at all kinds of events – from
networking to education sessions - and it’s time to put that right.
