The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre), Malaysia’s premier award-winning purpose-built facility and Asia’s only AIPC (International Association of Congress Centres) Gold Standard venue, is ready to deliver memorable experiences to an expected 65,000 delegates and visitors attending 31 major high-profile events during 2018.Looking ahead at the Centre’s 2018 calendar of events, the Centre’s General Manager Alan Pryor said:“This year is especially strong in the association meetings segment for us, with 11 prestigious events confirmed, attracting more than 40,000 delegates and visitors to the Centre, generating RM 100 million in anticipated economic impact for Malaysia. These events include the recently held 9th World Urban Forum (WUF9) 2018, which attracted 25,000 attendees. We were delighted to be the venue of choice for this highly important and prestigious international event and the exposure and legacy this event created is not only a win for us, but also for Malaysia and the region.”The Centre will also host the Worldchefs Congress & Expo 2018, 35th International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) International Conference 2018, World Cancer Congress 2018, International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) World Congress 2018 and International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) World Library and Information Congress 2018 later this year.Elaborating on the 2018 outlook, Pryor added: “Our philosophy of delivering innovative and value-add solutions that are personalised through our partnership approach; our highly knowledgeable and professional team; commitment to continuous investment in venue maintenance and efforts to continually update our business model have played an important part in why we have such a strong calendar of events to look forward to in 2018.”The Centre’s calendar of events is made up of about 60 per cent repeat events, which continue to be the pillar of its yearly business calendar. This includes long-standing events which have held every edition at the venue since opening, such as the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) Conference 2018, ARCHIDEX 2018, HRDF Conference & Exhibition 2018 and HOMEDEC 2018.“Although we have an exciting calendar with many new and recurrent events to look forward to this year, we will not be resting on our laurels in 2018. We remain committed to enhancing our products and offerings to meet new expectations and market conditions, and create bespoke experiences and memorable customer journeys. Our team will also be working tirelessly to prepare for the Centre’s expansion, which is due to be completed in mid-2019 and will provide an additional 11,000 sqm of flexible and multi-purpose space,” Pryor concluded. To receive further details of the KLCC’s forthcoming expansion, contact:Name: Kuala Lumpur Convention CentreEmail: [email protected]: +60 (3) 2333 2888Address: Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, 50088 Kuala LumpurWebsite: www.klccconventioncentre.com
