The 11th Global Eventex Awards, a ceremony to reward projects in the meeting industry, dished out awards in long-standing categories, as well as new categories that reflect the changing world of events.

Kenes Group, headquartered in Geneva, won first place in two of these new categories and secured five other trophies, while Milan-based AIM Group International collected six awards on the night.

Kenes Group won first place in the Best Online Educational Event for the Virtual Educa Connect 2020 event, organised by the Madrid-based team. The event saw 84,000 registrants from five countries and delivered more than 200 hours of content across three days.

The new People’s Choice – Event Technology award was also bestowed to Kenes Group for its efforts in creating VirtuOz – a solution for virtual conferences. The product provides flexibility in planning events. This was the first time the company has entered into one of the technology categories.

Kenes Group CEO Dan Rivlin said: “In the last year, we proved our flexibility and adaptability. Our awards in the new categories reflect this well. I am proud of our team. These trophies give us another reason to celebrate what has otherwise been a difficult year for the whole industry. We are happy that our new virtual event solution is being recognised as one of the best out there.”

AIM Group International, received six awards: three golds, two silvers and one bronze at the Global Eventex Awards. Gold awards included best Association Meeting for the Travelling with ICARE event, best Virtual Networking Event for the AIM Christmas Party and best Virtual Tournament for SIR Run Virtual Marathon.

AIM Group International also scooped awards in the Educational Event, Virtual Association Meeting and Virtual Camfield Experience categories.

“I would like to thank, first of all, all the AIM teams involved in these projects, who in the last year have expressed even greater determination and generosity to overcome the many difficulties, for example, working remotely and to the overall uncertain situations that were unfolding which meant plans changed several times,” AIM Group International vice president, Patrizia Semprebene Buongiorno said.

“I would also like to thank the clients who were brave and decided to turn limits into an opportunity to experiment with new ways of interacting and involving their audiences, venturing with courage and trust during a challenging time for all organisations”.
