Laura Porter, senior manager for education at the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions tells Holly Patrick how a formal education in music led her to a career in the medical association industry. "After college, I started with a temp agency and they put me in an association," Laura explains.
"I did exhibits, sponsorship, marketing, education and meeting planning." But after seeing the whole realm of the association management world, Laura settled on education. And the rest is history, as they say.
A desire to travel led Holly Patrick to the business meetings and events world and she’s never looked back. Holly takes a particular interest in event sustainability and creating a diverse and inclusive industry. When she’s not working, she can be found rolling skating along Brighton seafront listening to an eclectic playlist, featuring the likes of Patti Smith, Sean Paul, and Arooj Aftab.
