The European Society of Association Executives (ESAE) will hold an advocacy event at the European Parliament with ambitions to simplify and streamline regulations for associations in Europe.

The ‘Policy Manifestos and Associations' Impact’ advocacy event will take place at the European Parliament in Brussels on 26th September 2023.

Association executives and EU Policymakers will come together for discussions on how to achieve impact in EU Public Affairs. The event will be hosted by Gabriel Mato MEP. Guido Lobrano, vice president and deputy director general at the European Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), which cochairs the ESAE Advocacy Community, will moderate the panel discussion.

Mike Morrissey said: “This event will bring together leading parliamentarians, policymakers and association leaders for a debate on how best to showcase the great work that association do across Europe to support our society in a breadth of different professions and sectors.

“Holding the event inside the European Parliament is a sign of the ongoing need to engage with elected politicians and their teams, to ensure discussions are based on facts and held in full transparency."

Ahead of the next European Parliament elections in 2024, association are drafting manifestos to convey the views of their members in their respective industries. In this context, this event aims to emphasise the role that associations play in a fact-based debate, taking into account the needs of the European Institutions for timely, non-biased and coherent input that will lead to better legislation.
