A string of international association meetings contributed to
a better-than-expected year at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), which saw the venue
host almost 500 events.
Managers hailed an ‘exceptional’ year at the Malaysian venue,
welcoming more than 300,000 visitors to 496 meetings and events, adding RM26m (€5.1m)
to the regional economy.
Throughout the year, BCCK played host to a diverse array of events,
including 19 international conferences, 240 national & local meetings, and
seven exhibitions, amongst others.
Highlights included the Annual Conference of the
International Association for Impact Assessment, Asia-Australasia Conference of
Radiological Technologists, PATA Destination Experience Forum & Mart,
Congress of the Asia-Pacific Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, World
Congress on Innovation & Technology Conference, Global Muslim Business
Forum, among others.
International meetings taking place in 2024 include the
Neurocritical Care Conference, IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man,
and Cybernetics, International Conference for Tropical Medicine & Malaria, and
the World Congress of Herpetology.
