Sarawak will host Malaysia’s first business event legacy
forum, LEGACY360, this October in Kuching.
The forum is part of a broader strategy to position Sarawak
as a leader in legacy-driven business events, aligning with national priorities
in social, economic, and environmental development.
LEGACY360 is one of three initiatives designed to embed
long-term impact into the business events sector. It will focus on five legacy
objectives: advocate, educate, advance, recognise, and support. Each objective
is paired with a dedicated programme:
- LEAP
Summit: A policy-focused gathering to advocate for legacy thinking among
government and industry leaders.
- LEGACY360
Forum: An educational platform for stakeholders to explore legacy
strategies.
- AI.LEGACY
Intelligent Impact Management System: A digital tool to support innovation
and measurement in legacy creation.
- Borneo
Inspires Legacy Awards (BILA) and International Journal of Business Events
and Legacies (IJBEL): Recognition platforms for impactful contributions.
- Legacy
Incentives Suite: Financial and strategic support for planners committed
to long-term outcomes.
“Advocacy at the policymaking level is crucial in
legacy-building, which is why we’re hosting the LEAP Summit during LEGACY360,”
said Amelia Roziman, CEO of BESarawak. “It will bring together government
leaders and industry players from around the globe to explore how business
events can be used to support social growth, economic progress, and
environmental responsibility.”
LEGACY360 will run alongside Kind Borneo, a
community-focused expo launched through a new collaboration between BESarawak
and Borneo Business Connect. The event will convene corporations, non-profits,
and philanthropies to share ideas and collaborate on socially impactful
projects.
Sarawak also introduced its I AM LEGACY movement to
Peninsular Malaysia for the first time during EventXpo 2025, held between 7-9
August at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The movement aims to highlight
individual and collective efforts to create positive change through business
events and was supported by a delegation of 13 co-exhibitors representing
sectors including tourism, hospitality, and event planning.
LEGACY360 is expected to attract international attention and
reinforce Sarawak’s role in shaping the future of business events through
legacy-focused strategies.
