In this episode of ‘Five Minutes With…’, Holly Patrick chatted with Iga Prokopowicz, freelance virtual event manager.

They discussed the necessity of having a virtual element to every event, event sustainability in a post-COVID world and the likelihood of individual carbon budgets for event professionals.

"I think in terms of enforcing the carbon budget, I'm not sure if that will come into play as quickly as reducing travel through all the COVID regulations so once people get used to not travelling because it's not advised in many countries or in many companies, they will probably reduce it through that, then the carbon footprint will be automatically lowered so perhaps they won't have to go into enforcing the carbon budget. But from my perspective, I think that perhaps there should be a quota from companies on how much you get to travel."
