Ottawa will host seven major life sciences association
events over the next two years, which Ottawa Tourism said confirmed the Canadian
city’s growing reputation as a leading destination for life science
conferences.
The events, taking place between now and 2027, will bring an
estimated 5,000 delegates into Ottawa.
Ottawa, housing two universities; hospitals; research
facilities and government agencies with responsibility for shaping health
policy, is one of Canada’s fastest-growing hubs for innovation and research, boosting
its appeal as a meetings destination for life science associations.
Stephanie Seguin, vice president, Business & Major
Events at Ottawa Tourism, said: “Ottawa is home to groundbreaking research and
vibrant cross-sector collaboration that makes it a natural hub for global
dialogue in life sciences.
“We’re thrilled to
see a growing number of associations and international leaders choosing Ottawa
for their events.”
The announcement comes following Ottawa Tourism’s Business
Events team’s appearance at Innovate Canada 2025 in June, where the
organisation partnered with Invest Ottawa to showcase the city’s strengths in life
sciences.
“As we continue to grow our life sciences conference
portfolio, we’re not just welcoming visitors,” adds Seguin. “We’re fostering
partnerships, sparking innovation and helping shape the future of global health
right here in Ottawa.”
