The World PCO Alliance has elected new officers to lead it for the next two years, with Sumate Sudasna of Thailand’s Conference and Destination Management (CDM) appointed president.

Sudasna, who succeeds André Vietor of Spain’s Bco Congresos as president, is joined by Caroline Knies, founder and managing director of Sweden’s Meetagain AB, as vice president and Jean-Paul da Levison, founder of Canada’s JPdL International, as treasurer.

The new officers will serve a two-year term with immediate effect, continuing the work of the Alliance, which provides leadership in professional congress organisation and meeting management through19 PCOs around the world.

Vietor takes up the immediate past president title and will remain with the Alliance as a support to the new officers.

Sudasna, active in the business events arena for more than 30 years, 16 of which were as president of Thailand Incentive and Convention Association, said he was honoured to assume his new role.

“Together with my fellow officers, I am eager to support our members and strengthen our industry by creating new opportunities and solutions for meetings worldwide.”

Vice president Knies, an industry leader with more than 30 years of experience, added: “Sustainability, collaboration, and building lasting partnerships are at the heart of our work at Meetagain, and I look forward to extending those values to the Alliance’s initiatives globally.”

De Lavison, with 40 years of event management under his belt, said the Alliance would ‘continue to grow as a platform for collaboration with members who inspire one another to excel.’
