The International Association of Professional Congress Organisers
(IAPCO) has launched a new global campaign aimed at raising standards in event
and congress organisation.
The initiative, called 'Unlocking
Excellence,' seeks to improve the quality and professionalism within the
industry, according to IAPCO officials.
“Our goal with the ‘Unlocking Excellence’ campaign is to highlight the
rigorous standards that our members adhere to. We want to emphasise the
importance of quality assurance in the global meetings and events industry,”
said IAPCO CEO Martin Boyle.
In 2022 and
2023, IAPCO members—representing 91 companies and 180 PCO offices
globally—organised more than 33,000 meetings, events, and congresses. These
activities generated €27.7 billion in economic impact.
The association’s accreditation process includes continuous peer reviews
and a focus on ongoing education to ensure members maintain high standards.
"The accreditation process is designed to ensure that our members are
recognised as the best in the industry," Boyle said, noting the emphasis
on innovation and education to keep pace with industry changes. "Our
members are leaders, always striving to set new benchmarks for quality and
innovation."
